we are fabricating Aperture coupled patch antenna at 15GHZ . Normmally for patch and feed we need to deposit metal thickness of more than 3 skindepths at a particular frequency . so if we use nickel as a patch metal it requires only a thickness of 0.1317 micrometer (3*0.0439micro meter,skin depth of nickel at 15GHz is 0.0439) at 15GHz. This small thickness we can deposit either by sputtering or evaporator. so can we use this metal for patch and feed material in patch antenna ?
