Hi Mubshra,

unfortunately, you will be only able to test within-group models (that is one within the managers group and one within the staff). Why were the data gathered in this strange fashion?

As I said, you can do what ever suits your goals--only the combination of the data is not possible. An exception would be if you have lots of higher order settings (teams, departments) and you know for each manager and employee the assignment to his/her setting. But on the indiviudal level you can only run a model with each group.

Again, I wonder why someone would run such a study without an analysis plan/research model.....

Hi Holger, thank you for your response. I am actually trying to find antecedents and outcomes of specific leadership behaviour. For this reason, i collected data on antecedents/precursors of those behaviors from managers/leaders (i.e., why they engage in those behaviours). And asked staff members how they perceive their leaders behaviours and outcomes of those behaviours. Data is collected from organizations operating in one country, however it is not known whether managers and staff members who answered the survey were from same organization/team or not.
