In general it is possible, but normal glucometers have problems with measuring glucose values in plasma samples. With a method valid for plasma samples like for example YSI it is possible.
Portable consumer glucometers are designed to work only with blood - if the hematocrit is way off compared to normal, readings will be very erratic.
There are conventional glucometers based on glucose oxidase, which will work quite well with properly stored fresh plasma samples. Beckman and YSI are two possible standalone devices that are not terribly expensive. If your needs are limited to very infrequent use, contact a clinical lab or a facility that analyzes animal sample.
