I’m doing a meta-analysis on several continuous variables (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fat, and so on) of the same outcome (dietary intake).
Can I put all the different variables in the same forest plot (as if they were subgroups)?

Sure, you can. However, a subgroup analysis is recommended for a particular variable (fruits, vegetables, etc.).

You need a different forest plot for each question, but they can be displayed alongside each other :)
Hi, when you have same outcome and different continous variable, then depending upon the unit of variable you may combine them. If the variables are measured in different units then combining is not advisable. However, if they all are measured in the same units then it can be done. But of course you have to do subgroup analysis for it to be meaningful.
If they are measured in different units it is better to make different forest plots.
Yes you can, however you should check other cofaunding factors that affect the variables before detail analysis
