graphite has a directional conductive heat transfer, thermal conductivity  || to layer approx 1800 W/m-k which is quite higher and has a 140 W/m-k c perpendicular to the layer so i have to make a mould for continuous casting, i am thinking to make a mould though which horizontal heat transfer will be passed though its maximum heat transfer direction to make increase the heat transfer rate. so my question is - is it possible to have a graphite block which has a high thermal conductivity >1500W/m-k in a certain direction..??

Thank You in advance..
