I must remove (1) steam and (2) dust particles from flue gases. But there is too much pressure drop if I use multiple equipment for both (e.g. a steam condenser/ heat exchanger and cyclone/ ESP/ scrubber). I want something a cost-effective solution for this. Can a cyclone separator do the trick? Will steam condense in a cyclone and come out from the bottom along with dust particles? Has it been done before?

Some of the concerns I have are-

1. Can I introduce steam + dust in a cyclone separator?

2. If I try to recover heat from the steam by condensing it in a heat exchanger, where will the dust go? Will it come out of the exchanger, or will it accumulate in the shell side?

Note: Condensing steam is desirable here- I don't want it to be emitted through the chimney.
