I have been using D-Q algorithm to control full bridge single phase inverter. following steps i followed to get control algorithm for single phase VSI.

following steps are

1.small signal modelling of inverter with LC filter.

2.orthogonal imaginary circuit was constructed.

3.park transformation and cross coupling .

4.PI compensator derived for inverter.

5.inverse park transformation.

6.finally control reference sinusoidal signal generating from sine function.

i have to follow all the steps for generating the sinusoidal reference signal to control my single phase full bridge inverter. but if i am applying the same control theory to multi level inverter i could not able to make small signal modelling like full bridge inverter since full Bridge inverter having four IGBTs/ Mosfet (s1,s2,s3&s4). In order to get output voltage across the load we used to switched ON the four IGBTs in complementary manner ,whice means when s1,s2 ON s3 & s4 off. From above the switching pattern we can get On time( D )  and Off time (1-D).so we can able to derive small signal model for inverter. But in multi level inverter INPUT VOLTAGE is varying quantity many switching time (for 5 level )also will encounter in order produce multiple level across the Load .how can i get switching time to derive small signal model for MLI ?
