YES! Health informatics is information engineering applied to the field of health care, essentially the management and use of patient healthcare information. We live in a community where information or data on medical patience are not treasure by health attendants or not store properly because we lack the requisite technologies. Health Informatics can assist in several ways. For instance, medical attendants need information about their patients in order to interpret their medical history.
One concrete goal which can be addressed by analytics is to do patient segmentation based on their predicted risk to certain diseases, by using their history, location, genetics, diagnostic data.
