I am studying algae-associated symbionts and their ecological importance. I know that bacteria and archaea can contribute nutrients to the host. But can fungi (not fungi-associated bacteria/symbionts) fix/generate/mineralize bioavailable (inorganic) nutrients and especially, Nitrogen?

What I came across from my past and recent reading is that fungal symbionts and especially mycorrhizae enhances nutrient acquisition in plants as the mycelium can travel deeper scavenging the normally inaccessible nutrients. Similarly, some fungi sps. can stimulate bacterial mineralization of specific nutrients.But I guess my question isn't clear or maybe I missed finding the relevant research. My question is whether like bacteria. can fungi transform organic matter into essential inorganic (bioavailable) forms or can fix Nitrogen?
Shailesh Nair, So far I do not know nitrogen-fixing fungus. But fungi are known organic matter decomposers. It is a known fact. Because they are decomposers that support the release of essential plant nutrients.
