I have a water with far too much Fe and Mn (37 and 3,5 mg/l for agricultural use). I want to oxidize them out of the water, but:

1) it contains a lot of other divalent cations, like Ca, Mg, Sr, Zn,.... is this not going to interfere with the process?

2) are there any cases i which Mn from the oxidant can be released into the water instead of binding the Fe and Mn in solution?

References about the topic would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance!
