I think that Cultural Diversity Responsive Education (CDRE) can be considered a more comprehensive approach to transformative education than inclusive education, indigenous perspectives, critical pedagogy, and so forth. As every society of the world becomes a culturally diverse society, we need to position our education through CDRE to ensure equitable learning opportunities to all learners of the classroom.

Multicultural education is predicated on the principle of educational equity for all students, regardless of culture. Culturally responsive teachers should center students' identities in the classroom, they support the development of students' racial and ethnic pride. A trove of studies favorably link racial and ethnic pride and belonging to school engagement, interest in learning, and even better grades.
I fully agree with the previous comments. I have taught black, white and coloured students during my days as a teacher. However, it is outside the classroom that inter-cultural contacts grow in a positive way and better understanding between races and cultures, including contact between e.g. Muslims and Christians. I can testify how two or three day hiking trips in the wilds changed attitudes - including my own perceptions about race and culture - and life-long friendships and understanding - came about.
Dear Hans Friedrich Heese, please, note that your term "coloured" student is racially insensitive, pejorative and insulting of those who are not White and that society has since moved on from the employment of such pejorative and racist nomenclatures across the board. There is abundant literature that inform that we now use the term "students of color." Thank you for your kind considerations.

Of course, CDRE can be the most effective way to a comprehensive World People Understanding, for the mutual cultural approach is the best way to listen to and talk each other, in order to understand various different anthropological roots. While I know neither the context nor the particular content of CDRE, it strikes me as a very positive step in opening up student perspective and awareness. As an anthropologist, I am of course, biased, but education means leading out and encouraging students to see beyond the confines of their particular waters. They need to discover that they are wet.

There may be several variables that could militate against or even scupper " a teacher's attempt at following every student's culture" and these may include but not limited to [1]. The pedagogical environment [for instance, in Europe and the Americas, pedagogy is normatively saturated by Eurocentered paradigms, which may adversely impact on students of color and ethnic minorities. [2]. It may also be that the deliverer of pedagogy may not have received any cultural competency training that would elicit the "following of students' cultures." [3]. We live in a racist society, where students' cultures are routinely de-emphasized, even pejoratively viewed and those, including the deliverers of pedagogy, who have received socialization in racist constructs can only live what they have learned.
Take the example of the United States of America, where southern racists are dead set against the teaching of Critical Race Theories, for the fact that it will expose to their children, how horrible their forebears were. Evidently, the attempt at a whitewash or erasure is pursued by Whites in the United States, contingent on their fear that their children will learn the true history of their racism and how it it transmitted intergenerationally and in the case of Blacks in the US, from 1619 to the killing of George Floyd in 2020 and counting. Whites also fear that they are now fast becoming a minority, which, critically thinking, has no bearing with the distribution of power and economic prowess, currently held in a stranglehold by Whites. The other is that although Whites may be in the minority, but are persons of color all one and the same-as in the case of a monolith? The answer is a resounding NO. So, as laudable as it may be for a teacher to "follow students' cultures for the purpose of inclusivity, the jury will be out for a long time on its feasibility.
Buster C Ogbuagu Yes, it is possible if every teacher tries to understand the classroom's students' cultures through students themselves by adopting student-centered teaching strategies.
