I'm new to area of survey design and research by questionnaire. I've read about importance of Cronbach’s alpha, Bartlett's Test, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin in verifying surveys.

My question is, can these factors be estimated in advance of sending out questionnaires?

I plan to survey university students on perceptions of their course at specific time points and my concern is that I receive data that score poorly on these factors and therefore cannot be used (and consequently I miss feedback at vital time points).

EDIT: survey will be of type "I find X valuable for my study" with agree/disagree Likert scale.

Thanks in advance

Andy
