First of all, citation standards are set by the publisher where you head to or, in the case of a thesis, by the faculty or department.
It is highly recommendable to use a citation management tool like Citavi, Mendeley or similar, that augments the quality of your reference management definitely. These will also create the proper format in Word or create a LaTeX bibliography file for you, so all you would have to do is create the entry manually in the tool which isn't that hard.
