Several years ago I worked on Gorgonia corals in a project concerned with their secondary metabolites. Now, I suggest the biological role (mainly behavioral effect) of these metabolites (single compounds or blends) derived from marine sponges on insects. Malformation of ovaries, life span, fecundity, behavioral effects are the usually my study issues.
The BEST Ever 2 Publications I have always seen and followed and suggested are the following, both from Peter Proksch's group:
1. Methods for isolation, purification and structural elucidation of bioactive secondary metabolites from marine invertebrates: https://www.nature.com/nprot/journal/v3/n12/full/nprot.2008.182.html
2. Methods for isolation of marine-derived endophytic fungi and their bioactive secondary products: https://www.nature.com/nprot/journal/v5/n3/full/nprot.2009.233.html
