I am in a urgent need for material explaining the basics of wave propagation in soils. I came across lot of advanced material, which deals with specific conditions. Kindly suggest a good book or article about this.
As far as textbooks are concerned, the literature on GPR is quite limited. A basic book is that by Jeff Daniels (editor) and contains both fundamental and advanced material. Try downloading for from the URL given below. You can also try to find "Stratigraphic Analyses Using GPR" by Gregory Baker and Harry Jol, ppublished by the Geological Society of America (or buy it, it costs only 13 Euro). For information on EM wave propagation in finite media there's plenty of literature which, I'm sure, you can find in your Institute's library.
