Ontologies are the binder integrating data base systems, knowledge-based systems and objects-based systems in collaboration-based applications. The ontologies reduce the semantical ambiguities in knowledge’s sharing and reusing.

Thanks, Krishnan for your answer and Gopal for your question. I'm about to create and publish an ontology for 6-12 schools (and maybe beyond = tertiary). So, hopefully, I may benefit from appropriate contributiions here.

Your question is important, but you need to rephrase it better. So, the question should be why do you need this ontology?. I should know the purpose of ontology before recommending one. For instance, ontology to catch learner behavior, linguistic purposes, etc.

Generally speaking, there is no generic ontology for e-learning but there are different ontologies published from different projects. You can search online to find any of them.

Although there is no direct link but you have to consider tools used for building/developing ontologies.

Thank Rawad for your valuable suggestion actually I want  an ontology to find out learners knowledge level, his behavior and then suggest an appropriate learning material to him.

I  know the various open source tools for developing ontology , but i need some already developed ontology created by any authorize research organization , so that we can check the working of learner against our developed ontology as well as such any authorized organization developed ontology.....

Ontology is an advanced technology in knowledge engineering, and often used to construct the knowledge-based intelligent systems. It provides the sharing definitions of basic terms and their relations in the task domain, and also provides axioms as rules and constraints for manipulating and managing these terms and relations within the common domain vocabulary. By the rules or constraints ontology can do some reasoning in knowledge base and have the capability to verify the knowledge consistency. Nowadays ontology technology has been exploited to integrate the heterogeneous hypermedia-learning system. The difference between two systems in AIMS uses topic maps to implement the domain model, while OntoAIMS uses OWL and DAML-S.

@Gopal, finally the announced paper has been published. I haven't called the approach ontology although it could easily be turned into one. You may find the multilingual aspect of the approach interesting given the many languages used in your country.
