I am familiar with a protocol in which we cut the leaves soak in water and take the electrical conductance of the solution to measure the ionic difference between treated and untreated samples. But can anyone suggest a non-invasive method through which I can measure the ions and particle uptake and flow through stem or phloem without  cutting parts of the plant.
