I treated WT mice with oxonic acid/Vehicle for four weeks and measured uric acid from serum using uric acid assay kit from bioassay system (DIUR-250). To my surprise, the uric acid value was measured at the level of 7-11mg/dL. Contacted the company for technical support and I was notified that this assay is not specific for uric acid alone and not sensitive enough. At this point I am looking for a test that has more specificity and reliability. Could anyone suggest me any solution? Thank you in advance.
