Can anyone suggest a survey design method to evaluate the functional/tropic role of small cryptobenthic fish fauna in marine coastal ecosystems by using exclusion cages?

Need some baseline applied method that allows at the amount (how varies the composition of species (predators)) and downstream (how varies as the composition of invertebrate communities, benthic, that the small fish eat, mostly blennids, gobiids). In the base, there are three treatments: (a) control areas; (b) excluding cryptic zones (open cages homeless ...); (c) exclusion zones and other cryptic species (closed cages). If you know any article or similar design including pre-campaign, cage size/design, depths, study period, etc?
