I'm planning to learn the basics of FEM and also want to be able to solve all kinds of problems numerically using MATLAB.
I'm looking for some textbooks and/or sources where I can learn about FEM and its implementation in MATLAB.
Hi
I recommend the following book:
Advanced engineering mathematics with MATLAB, Dean G. Duffy
The Finite Element Method: Theory, Implementation, and Applications
Book by Fredrik Bengzon and Mats G. Larson
1. A. J. M. Ferreira for FEA Matlab codes.
2. MATLAB Guide to Finite Elements: An Interactive Approach: Peter I. Kattan
3. The finite element method: basic concepts and applications with MATLAB, MAPLE, and COMSOL: Heinrich, Juan C., Pepper, Darrell W
4. The Finite Element Method Using MATLAB:Young W. Kwon, Hyochoong Bang
For basics, I suggest you read "A First Course in Finite Elements" by Jacob Fish & Ted Belytschko and for MATLAB " MATLAB codes for Finite Element Method" by Ferreira. Also Dr.Zienkiewicz books are great in FEM.
It is very easy in MATLAB, see e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c-sPXolD0w
https://au.mathworks.com/discovery/finite-element-analysis.html
https://w3.pppl.gov/m3d/reference/fsem_intro.pdf
You can see lectures by Prof. Krishna Garikipati, UoM and for reference you can use book by J N Reddy.
Hey, I suggest you this books:
Partial Differential Equation Toolbox, For Use with MATLAB
Numerical Methods Using Matlab , John.H.Mathews
Advanced Engineering Mathematics with MATLAB, Fourth edition, DEAN DUFFY
I think this book is a good reference for your purpose.
Khennane, A. (2013). Introduction to finite element analysis using MATLAB® and abaqus. CRC Press.
Here are two very good books
