I am trying to study the sociopolitical reasons behind code-mixing of English in Sindhi and Urdu (two languages widely spoken in Pakistan). What I am finding difficult is how to divide the quantitative questionnaire in different variables best suited for analysis in SPSS. Can anyone help me in that regard? Any suggestion, tip or advice or any general comment is welcome.
Hmm, not clear on the term code-mixing as it relates to languages. Perhaps sharing your research aim or more about the data you are coding? From what I see, I would set up SPSS with the data as it is provided in the questionnaire. You can then create some dummy variables (yes/no) based on data you have to refine the coding. Thank you Andeia, actually I am confused regarding the use of coding in questionnaire, I mean how can we determine that how I can distribute the items according to the codes, should I keep some items regarding the first variable first and then for the second and then third and so on? In simple words, how to do the coding? Any help? Any source or material that might help me?
