Hi,

I'm looking for samples of Bemisia tabaci or other whitefly or scale insect species containing the bacterial endosymbionts Fritschea sp., and/or Cardinium sp. and/or Hemipteriphilus sp.

We attempt to detect endosymbionts using the published primer sequences of the primary and secondary endosymbionts of B. tabaci in other whitefly species, but cannot detect the above mentioned ones. The problem are unspecific bands on the gels (sequencing to check bands). When making the PCRs more specific, the bands disappear but we still don't know if the endosymbionts are there or not, i.e. we don't have a positive control. Therefore it would be great if someone could send whitefly samples containing these bacteria.

We cover the postal charges etc. Thanks a lot in advance!
