As Trichrome Stain (Masson) Kit is currently not sold in India. Can I use "Direct Red 80 (Sirius Red) CAS Number:2610-10-8, Sigma Aldrich" for the same?
Red PCR staining is to localize the orientation of collagen fibres (a reprint enclosed Figure 8). You already know Mason Trichrome.
If you try carefully, you can do using this Mason Trichrome protocol. I used it and you do not need kit but you have to make some solutions very carefully and follow the protocol carefully. If you have any question you may ask me. Also I am enclosing a paper I used MT protocol and see Figure 2. There is one more paper enclosed where I did PSR and did polarized microscopy in Figure 8 on that for PSR
For me one of the best staining method for collagen fibres is the Masson's trichrome, Goldner's variant with Green light in place of Anilin blue. So collagen fibres appear in pure green color. Below 2 ex. Regards
