I am currently interested in the Placebo effect from a social orientation. I know the work of Moerman "Meaning, Medicine, and the Placebo Effect" and like it very much. But I can't find many other strong references to his approach to placebos. Any direction would be appreciated.
What do you think about thought-priming? We did a study like that and proved that instruction (deception in our case) resulted in statistically significant effects (see:
