A friend needs a reccomendation for anti-Lyn antibody that can be used in IP. He had a Santa-Cruz AB that doesn't work anymore (tried several batches). Any lead on the subject would be appreciated.
Santa Cruz has a lot of competitors these days. Depending on the species you are working with, you should look at Genetex, Abnova, and Exbio for example.
I would recommend the goat peptide antibody EB08450. You will need protein G beads for the precipitation. The product has not been confirmed in IP yet, but based on the chosen sequence of the immunizing peptide this antibody should be a good candidate; See http://everestbiotech.com/product/goat-anti-lyn-antibody/ for further details. Money back if not successful in IP.
Sorry about the confusion: The peptide C-KTQPVRNTERT that was used to generate and affinity purify EB08450 shows a very strong match with mouse Lyn (KTQPVRNTDRT), so we expect this antibody to cross-react with the Lyn protein in mouse. The BLAST results in NCBI indicate no matches to other mouse proteins. I hope this helps.
I would recommend a free antibody database at labome.com. For antibodies to Lyn you can check the following link: https://www.labome.com/review/gene/human/Lyn-antibody.html. In addition to antibodies provided by Santa Cruz, Abcam has Lyn antibody (Abcam, ab1890) suitable for both western blot and IP on mouse samples. Also, BioLegend offers Lyn antibody (Biolegend, 628102) and Cell Signaling Technology has Lyn antibody (Cell Signaling Technology, 2796), both antibodies are suitable for IP. EMD Millipore provides Lyn antibody (Millipore, 06-207) which can be used in both western blot and IP on mouse samples. You can find the information for these antibodies and the references following the provided links.
