I want to do ANOVA analysis on some experimental data, conducted according to the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) technique. I want to do it manually without using any software. Please help.
Why don't you want to use software? The software will do the calcs far better and faster, with greater precision than you can.
The software will do a few things:
1) calculate the significance of your factors using coded data.
2) calculate the coefficients of your model using the actual data and lots of matrix multiplication.
3) calculate sum of squares for each termand the model.
That I'll be days worth of calcs and recalcs for even a small to moderate system... or 2 seconds with software.
In case you have no access to specialized statistical softwares , i suggest you download and use the free software Scilab, it is quite similar to Matlab, here you can feed in the matrices to the console and calculate the needed sum of squares for ANOVA hypothesis tests using the appropriate linear algebra, the computed statistics , e.g F ratio you can feed into excel software or equivalent and obtain corresponding p values, only thing you have be sure about that the matrices fed are correct and there is no error in the linear algebra while feeding in the data to Scilab console.
Dear Raju, if you can get design expert software...it is easy to use and all the require parameters like p-value, lack of fit, model significant and so on.
Hello Raju Das, MNITAB instruction on ANOVA i easy to get online. AM usign MINITAB also but not with RSM but TAGUCHI....
