Calycopteris floribunda (Roxb.) Lam. (Combretaceae) is correct identification. It is a climbing shrub found extensively in Tropical Evergreen Forest of Western Ghats in India. It is a medicinally important plant species. Furthermore, the plant is well known for storing water. Tribals inhabiting the forest use this plant to quench their thirst in summer season when there is scarcity of water.
