I found these insect pests on the Sal (Shorea robusta) trees. I found these trees were dying due to an unknown pest. I found these two pest only on the affected trees. These does not seem to be Sal borers are they? Can anybody identify these pests for me please?

The last two pictures show a pupa of a Hymenopteran (Braconidae?).
Not a pest, however.
The pictures 1-2 seem to show a Sphaerotrypes (Curculionidae Scolytinae).

It is difficult to identify insects from photographs only, except one is very familiar with them. I suggest you send specimens to a reputable insect museum for proper identification. This is because a detailed study of the morphology of the insects is needed for this exercise.

1 thru 4 are Colep}optera. It's hard to identify genera and species in photograps.
The genus of the second showed beetle is certain: Sphaerotrypes (Curculionidae Scolytinae).
Concerning the Platypodid, a valid help could be the classic book by Stebbing (1914. Indian forest insects of economic importance. Coleoptera), even if it is a bit old.
