I'm synthesizing Cu NP by a reduction method and I want to determine the oxidation stability of the produced suspension by using a UV spectrophotometer. What's the Cu particles size range within a peak can be obtained? Any tip about suspension concentration or any other useful information?
I'd really recommend you use TEM or AFM to size these. There are emperical ways to do this with gold for example, but I don't think they are fullproof.
Thank you for your answers. My concern was more about experimental conditions because by XRD i confirmed i have FCC Cu but i can't see any peak on the UV spectrum. Therefore i thought either i'm doing some kind of experimental mistake or agglomeration results into too large particles.
Can I know which solvent you are using to make Cu nano particles ? Cu nano particles are easily oxidized depending upon surrounding medium. For more detail read the paper
