I am planning a thrombolytic therapy for graft thrombosis of Aorto left femoral bypass (symptoms present for10 days). Do you have any experience with any of the vascular closure systems I can use for a previously placed Dacron graft?
I have used the Angioseal closure device in dacron / ptfe grafts on several occasions (groin and direct puncture of cross-over grafts) without problems.
The question isn't clear...the patient had a aorto-left femoral bypass (what about the other side?and about The prossimal anastomosis?)
Why do you need to make a direct punture of the graft? You may use a controlateral approach or a radial-omeral one to insert the cathetere for thrombolytic terapy...
Furthermore you have an old thrombosis?do You want treat it with thrombolytic terapy?!
Last thing: the type of closure device depends on the French size of the hole that you make with the cathetere...
Sorry for my delayed response.. I could not perform the procedure since the patient refused the procedure afterrwards.
About the questin of Gianluca; the radial approach woukld beso tricky since therewould be a long path and a few anastomosis on the way. I thought control could be harder.
