I want to check how the humidity, temperature affect the product quality inside a container during transportation. An ocean-going mother vessel passes through different tough weather conditions which may affect the apparel product quality. My target is to assess the quality degradation of a jute-made product during transportation from Bangladesh/India to Europe/North America. From some practical experiences, we came to know that the jute-made products became yellowish/greenish and deformed when they reached the stores in Europe. So maybe some special finishes or techniques can protect the goods from these kinds of problems, but for that, we need to understand how the deformities are happening. We will simulate similar atmospheres in the laberotory and test the goods to see the outcome.
It sounds like these products contain highly radioactive isotopes which is why they would become deformed and go through a process as you described. You may have to try and find alternative dyes for your textiles in order to meet EU safety standards, LOL
Hello @Halil Halil, Generally we don't dye the jute yarn because of it's lucrative natural color. But still this is happening. Yes, we need to find alternative dyes, chemicals etc. or maybe an alternative process of finishing. But for that we need to know what is happening and why this happening. There might be some other ways to figure it out, but I believe my technique would be the best one. I will test the properties under the worst weather condition during it's transportation. I hope you can help.
It is either high humidity or high salt (in the air) that makes bacteria (?) grow on it.
You can take the air out and pack them airtight (if possible) to prevent this "corrosion" phenomenon.
I very much doubt there is any radioactivity associated with these plants.

It is doubtful there is any radioactivity in a plant otherwise it wouldn't be able to be used for extraction for colouring purposes,plants would only be able to absorb a small amount of radiation.I am referring to the deterioration of the materials which suggests that this is an unstable element which therefore had a reaction with the air outside and that it has a short half life.It could be materials used in paint or chemicals.
Fungal cultures wouldn't be able to thrive on a " high salt" environment.Fungi need to respire.
Air packing something in a vacuum is not a cost effective solution,in reality its much more expensive than the rope.
By the way you can coat the painted product with a product ie primer which can help maintain colour and protect "from the environment".
Also if you're worried about bacterial or fungal culture as the researcher above suggests try sending a test batch,ie one which has been chemically treated to kill bacteria,and one with primer or protective layer paint one with no paint at sll and so on along with the control sample,thus you can see what was wrong and if theres a difference between the samples or not.If there is it could suggest something in the dye,if you packed them the same way and they are deteriorated it could be the questionable stroage environment.Thus you can do an experiment if you want.Good luck
