Can anyone help me in modelling an underwater optical channel (a vertical channel like the picture)?
The main part of the MATLAB code and in fact the mathematical model and formulas are programmed completely correctly, and the expected graphs of SNR and BER for different division of layers are displayed completely correctly. In addition, I also have MATLAB codes for similar channels, but I need help to model the desired channel through the codes I have.
I am not an expert on underwater VLC, but I work with FSO communications. I could try to help you.
I suggest you use the channel of a RIS array by introducing water permeability.

A suggestion is that wireless channels include both large-scale fading and small-scale fading. Secondly, attenuation at different depths may be involved in water, as well as medium characteristics such as transmission and refraction. As a reminder, the underwater optical channel is a LOS channel, since it cannot be reflected by reflective objects.
