I am modelling a beam in abaqus giving generalised section. I am not able to check the stress( bending+axial ) on the beam I created. I am able to see circular or elliptical profile when I define the general section, but I still don't understand, is Abaqus really taking that profile for calculation, how does it assign depth so as to calculate the bending stress?
