I took this pictures in the Gulf of Mexico, in front Veracruz. I think it is Stephanocoenia but I am not sure. I hope someone could help me. Thank you!

Such green colonies resemble Porites astreoides.
Stephanocoenia intersepta has larger polyps and is brownish. When touched it blushes.
I agree with Dr.Moorsel and I strongly believe that it refers to Porites also it should be P. astreoides as well due to the small polyp size compared to Stephanocoenia.

Unfortunately, the stony coral that yau have mentioned above has not presented at reef tropical area (Indo-Pacific Region), but I agree with Dr. G.Van Moorsel that the stony coral is Porites astreoides and strongly different with Stephanocoenia particularly on coralite size and wall and columella well developed
In the second picture I am sure that´s Porites astreoides
