Many papers on this topic.. either dispersing GO or G in solvents like DMF or NMP and spray or spin coating.

But I seriously doubt long term efficacy of Graphene as the so-called corrosion inhibitor.. though there are many papers which report 'excellent' corrosion inhibition properties of graphene , there are serious questions about the methodology used.

Read this paper by Schriver et. al. (10.1021/nn4014356) which shows graphene is worst than unprotected substrates in the long run.

Thanks Sridhar for your input, yes many papers are their regarding this where they mentioned only graphene is not good for corrosion inhibition due to defect but with composite it is giving good result. I will try as instructed by you thanking you again

Thanks Chris for your useful information. But one thing I want to mention is, graphene behave as a barrier to corrosion due to its structure ans non permibility to most of the chemical ions now I donot understand why graphene alone is not showing the property rather witrh polymer composites which are also hydrocarbon based? If the corrosion acceleration of graphene is dueto its cathodic behavior then why other polymers are not cathodic. Please suggest

Graphene can be impermeable if it completely coats or covers the metal substrates without any gaps.. For this, large area defect free graphene sheets are required which is the 'holy grail' of graphene research and is yet to be achieved.

As an additive in polymer based anti-corrosion coatings, graphene's utility is marginal. Even layered fillers like nano-clay or talc can exhibit the same 'barrier' property at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks Chris. Sorry for late response. Actually I was busy in some of my research work so getting less time for research gate. Yes you have given very useful suggestion to me. Something I need clarification from you that are

1. Now I got a process by which I can coat graphene oxide in large area which can be adopted by the industry also. In fact We have tried it in the industrial scale by taking the help of TATA STEEL, India. The problem is after the coating it is not showing good corrosion protection because of pores in the coating. So now can I coat a top layer on it so that it will heal the pores and may show good corrosion performance. If so what should be the top layer coating material or is it possible to develop some healing material which will selectively go to the pores and block them. Please suggest.
