Help needed: Can anyone help me in knowing that how to estimate Age of Trees by Species and Diameter (DBH). Species under study are: Cedrus deodara Pinus wallichiana Mixed coniferous Abies pindrow Populus deltoides Juglans regia Betula utilis. Please help me in this regard. Thanks
You multiply the DBH by the species' known 'growth factor' to obtain the approximate age or you can use regression analysis of DBH versus tree height. The growth factor of a tree species is generated by dividing the diameters of many individual trees by their actual age, determined by counting their growth rings. You might have to derive some of your own growth factors using any published data on tree size and age available in the literature :)

Once you know growth dynamics by years rings that can be single or multiple, in accord with water availaibility in an historical plantation you may relate DBH to age.
