I wonder if anyone wants to do a second Ph.D.; usually, he may not be funded by any university or external funders. Please share your experience or thought.
Postgraduate fellowship is better than having 2nd PhD because sharing of knowledge is updated and one will have a better chance to assess and compare his/her own performance with others for any improvements as well. Indeed we are never too old or too smart to learn new things from one another.
In my view, you should look for PostDoc Programs. You can follow the University's academic admissions page for further information on available scholarships and funding. Otherwise, you can contact your supervisor directly for further information about the program.
If someone did the first PHD without scholarship and then passed jrf and other scholarship exams, then jrf or other scholarship can be obtained i think
No need for a 2nd PhD if you already have one. What we do in the Philippines is simply retooling or bridging courses for vertical articulation if the undergraduate and graduate programs are not aligned. Postgraduate fellowship, as I have mentioned before, will do. Also international collaboration... It's indeed a big help. I hope this helps.
Jennifer Garcia, what will happen if I would like to do a Ph.D. in a different subject? For example, I am doing a Ph.D. in Physiotherapy but also have MPhil in Public Health. I feel if I could do a Ph.D. in Public Health! Thanks.
If that is the case, it's either you finish your PhD in Physiotherapy first for shorter period, or take the Ph.D in Public Health for longer term because of the required bridging courses for it. Have your program evaluated by the registrar of the university where you want to enroll your desired program. I hope it helps. God bless you!
