I have the plot obtained from and FT-IR analysis and I do not have any software provided along with the instrument to calculate the peak area. Is there any method to find the area using MATLAB or Excel? Moreover, in our laboratory, we have another FT-IR instrument (although it is not working) which has been equipped with the software of calculating peak area. So, can I use that software of one manufacturer to calculate the peak area for the plot that I have obtained from another different manufacturer?
FT-IR analysis is just to analyse the presence of functional group not the concentration, but if you are interested to calculate the peak area then you should do it in instrument software or use Origin software and compare with standard graph.

You can use origin software to calculate the area of the Peak, it is very easy to calculate area under the peak using integration option in origin lab software
