dear Shivani, as I remember haloarchaea (taxonomically still Halobacteria) are using (almost) solely salt-in strategy, thus you need to detect archaea in your environments/enrichments. The internet is full of literature, try to search for papers of D. Sorokin and A. Oren, they are well-known specialist in studying of halophiles...
