Simple application of sol gel does not adhere to the surface of substrate (glass). Upon spin coating a firm layer could be obtained. However, it is very thin. I am looking to make a thick layer as compared to TLC plates.
900 nm after 9 coatings (100 nm per coating) is good enough? This is a highly porous TiO2 photocatalyst.
We can prepare the transparent TiO2 films well-adhered on glass substrates without cracks and pin-holes by molecular precursor method. The thickness is 900 nm after 6 spin-coatings (150 nm per coating) by controlling the concentration of used precursor solution.
