I've tried with deionized water, but the solution doesn't blend well. Any suggestion beside water? And how many ml do I need to diluted 0.001g of reduced graphene oxide?
Hello! I usually use distilled water, isopropyl alcohol or hexanol; for all kinds and modification of GO; to prepare GO solution. It is neccessary to use ultrasonic bath to get homogeneous solutions. I mostly use 1mg of GO per 1ml of solvent. Hope it helps you.
Agree with Katerina Klimova, U can also use NMP, ethanol too & of course disperse well via ultrasonication.
Reduced graphene oxide is hopefully mostly reduced graphene (graphene)... and that may explain why you're having trouble with water.
Water is polar... and the oxides in Graphene oxide make the graphene hydrophyllic.
Reduced graphene should be hydrophobic...and water won't work so well.
NMP will though... but it's also polar... dipolar in fact.
