Research on bio-fertilizer and nutrient uptake by plants is needed to increase productivity of paddy maintaining soil fertility status reducing the dose of chemical fertilizer.
THE BIOCHAR OR ASH OF COCONUT SHELLS WILL DO THIS. USE THIS AS A CARRIER MATERIAL FOR PRODUCING BIOFERTILIZER. ELSE DIRECT AMENT SOIL WITH BIOCHAR OF COCONUT SHELL. RATHER THAN ASH PYROLYSED BIOCHAR IS BEST
Thanks Palani for your answer. Actually I am interested to know which beneficial micro-organism can be used effectively in the form of bio-fertilizer to increase the availability 'k" in case of paddy which can substantiate application of chemical fertilizer to some extent.
Recent reports are available on use of Bacillus spp. for Potassium solubilisation. You can search Google scholar for " Microbial solubilization of potassium minerals". PGPR's are also reported to solubilise K
Many bacteria namely Pseudomonas, Burkholderia, Acidothiobacillus ferrooxidans, Bacillus mucilaginosus, Bacillus edaphicus, B. circulans and Paenibacillus sp. are reported to release potassium in accessible form from potassium-bearing minerals in soils.
Moreover use of biochar as carrier material in biofertilizer along with above mentioned bacteria is an effective approach for K-availability increase in paddy.
