I am modeling a simple conduction cum fluid flow problem in ANSYS Fluent. Hot Fluid (say water) is passing through the inner tube of a 1m length double pipe heat exchanger having the solid (say aluminium) outside. Can anybody share some tutorials related to this?
It requires creating both fluid and solid zone (thin tube walls) during meshing. When solid zone is created, conjugate heat transfer option will be available in heat transfer boundary condition at wall. The solid body needs to given appropriate boundary condition e.g. constant temperature or constant heat flux. It is better to run the simulation with wall boundary condition first without any fluid. And after a steady profile is established, fluid can be introduced with velocity inlet boundary condition.

If you have meshed the solid zone, you should be able to see the "conjugate heat transfer" option. By the way, which version of ANSYS are you using?
the solid zone could be created by the GAMBIT, SOLIDWORK, DESIGN MOULDER, ICEM.
when you define boundary conditions, you can just define the zone which should be solid as a solid zone instated of fluid zone and then it define automatically in FLUENT.

If you want the heat transfer from fluid to solid, ypu have to define the temperature or heat flux boundary condition at the solid part.
Hello, The geometry I examined is a plate that passes through a tube of one millimeter thick and cools it. Do you think it's possible to neglect the thickness of the tube and just simulate the volume of fluid on the plate?
