Thank You Felix! I have already tried the hierarchical cluster analysis in SPSS; but the resulted dendrogram was too much confusing! I think I have made some mistake during the input of data. :-(
Hi Jyothy, how many variables do you have and what's your sample size? Do you need to cluster your variables or your cases? That is the first decision you have to make in this hierarchical cluster analysis.
Depending on the structure / distribution of your data you may have to standardize the data, either by variables or by cases. I know from experience this could make the difference between a mess and an interesting pattern. For instance you could have large quantitative differences between the cases that hides a common qualitative pattern of interest.
