I have got and read last published American technical note for military meteorologists AFWA/TN-98/002 (Revised: 13 Feb 2012). I have a question about its chapter concerning visibility: Forecasting Visibility Using Climatology. This chapter contains recommendation about using MODCV (Modeled Ceiling and Visibility). MODCV is a software program that provides climatologically based forecasts for ceiling and visibility. (MODCV is gradually replacing the older Wind-Stratified Conditional Climatology (WSCC) tables.) Use this program as a guide to what is likely to happen based on current conditions.

There is also a recommendation to use a program MODCURVES (Modeled Diurnal Curves).

Does anybody know if I can get and use these (or other) programs developed for American military meteorologists? Perhaps some of the former AFWA military meteorologists will give me a good advice.
