I want to pursue Phd in the service quality in healthcare so I would like to test whether there is any relationship between the accreditation and the patient satisfaction in healthcare industry?
pls guide whether this can be one of the objectives?
The views/idea/guidance as per the following papers may help:
The Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services in the United States are two excellent sites to visit about accreditation and patient satisfaction levels. As a nurse, I know that hospitals who are accredited and have received Magnet status retain nurses, which also lead to quality patient care and increased patient satisfaction
Topic is researchable. However, measuring clinical errors in patient satisfaction through survey method may be difficult. This may also depend upon respondents' clinical knowledge.
The second topic I need to recommend for you , is healthcare lean six sigma project about CTQ ( critical to quality) converting qualitative data into quantitative data like medical error , length of stay , waiting time ... etc
