Unfortunately, it is not always simple. One step is rather simple: if you encounter an (at least to you) unknown journal (or publisher) check the Beall’s list.
The journal “European Journal of Clinical Medicine” (https://www.ej-clinicmed.org/index.php/clinicmed) is published by “EUROPA Publishing” (also called European Open Science Publishing), a publisher mentioned in the updated version list of predatory publishers: https://beallslist.net/#update This is an indication that you might be dealing with a predatory publisher (and consequently journal). There are more red flags:
-The contact info of this ‘publisher’ is vague and the physical address looks fake
-For an ‘European’ journal the APC is suspiciously low (39 euro)
-The logo shows a misleadingly resemblance to the well-reputed PubMed one
-Editorial board looks suspiciously short and lacks too much detail
-Looking at the publisher (https://europapub.org/ ) they started more than 20 journals which is way too much
I would say better to avoid this one.
Best regards.
PS. When it comes to the Beall's list: If the journal has no publisher 'behind' it you check the stand-alone journal list otherwise you check the publisher list on this site https://beallslist.net/
Dear Noman Mohammad Which journal did you had in mind? The journal in this question “European Journal of Clinical Medicine” (https://www.ej-clinicmed.org/index.php/clinicmed) has never been in Scopus.
