There are multiple techniques proposed in the literature to limit the short circuit currents in a Virtual Synchronous Machine based inverter system. It is possible that by choosing the right values for a LCL filter might be useful?
The following documents have used the LCL VSC converter to limit the fault current.

Dear Usman Khalid,
there are several "short circuit" scenarios to deal with in inverter design.
Most often, cables on the output are connected accidentally leading to a short circuit with a rather high stray inductance.
Bridge shot-through on the other hand is a short circuit inside the inverter, directly connected to the DC-link with minimum inductance.
A filter may slow down di/dt only if it is part of the current's path.
So depending on the installation, placing of filter and location of the short circuit, the filter may help - of won't help at all.
Cheers - Martin
Martin Schulz Thankyou for your reply!
What if we have a grid connected VSC system and the fault occurs on the load end of the VSC.
My simulation shows that altering the values of the LCL filter reduces the over current during fault conditions

I have read that it is better to use other research methods alongside document analysis for triangulation, although it can also be used as a stand-alone method.
