Instead of modelling a BRB using the nonlinear link option, can it be modeled using a frame elements with cross sectional dimensions so as to produce the same elastic stiffness and with an axial plastic hinge? I will be doing a nonlinear time history analysis of a braced frame with BRB. I have assigned flexural plastic hinges at the ends of the beam and columns to study their damages if any.

BRB Hardening Hysteresis Model is similar to the kinematic model, but accounts for the increasing strength with plastic deformation that is typical of buckling-restrained braces, causing the back bone curve, and hence the hysteresis loop, to progressively grow in size. It is in tended primarily for use with axial behavior, but can be applied to any degree of freedom.
Sir, thanks for answering. But if I ignore the increase in strength of the BRB for cyclic loading, then can I model the BRB using axial plastic hinge with kinematic hardening, instead of using a link?
