Dear All, I'm trying to implement the C-S EOS in my LBM code but am quite stuck and have no idea what to do. According to the literature, g is used to keep the square root positive, but in my code, after 20 iterations, the value in the square root is always negative. In addition, I TRIED MANY combinations of density and g value but all failed. It is also worth mentioning that my code works fine with the original Shan-Chen model without any EOS. Could anyone give me any direction on how to fix this problem, please? Part of my code of psi function is as attached. Thanks in advance.
Having only this function and not the full code it is hard to say.
One thing that you easily could and should do is to calculate the return value of case 2.
Compare the mathematically calculated one with your function, if the results are different you know that this function has a bug. If math and numerics agree, maybe the bug is somewhere else in the code.
Sorry that I don't have easy solution for now, but writing a test helps for sure.
Good job, that sounds reasonable. Cool thing with LBM is that the functions are rather simple from a mathematical point of view, so you could really make use of test driven development. Good luck with your multiphase LBM research :)
